Trademark
A trademark identifies a source of goods or services used in commerce. It can be a word mark or a symbol mark. If it is federally registered, the holder of a mark can prevent others from using the mark for the designated or “confusingly similar” goods or services in the US. The protection may be perpetual if use is continued and renewal applications are filed.
